The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will run again 10th January 2010. This time the main events will take place in Trinity Community Centre in Gateshead. For the third time in our region we will be running charitable events and we will be collecting money to help support cancer reasearch in Poland. Join us if you can. Even you can save lives. This year WOSP HQ Newcastle will play in Gateshead. When last year we talked about oncology diagnostics in little children, it happened that we touched very important, but also very difficult subject. In Poland exists around 15 children oncology centres with brilliant staff, but which are underequipped in the most modern medical appliances necessary for diagnostics and treatment. Our ambition was to create a few dozen additional places in Poland (a few in each province), where parents, referred by paediatrician, could meet with specialist and make an examination in terms of early diagnostics. For this reason we were collecting money During XVII Final, which was a great success (the WOSP HQ in Poland collected around 40 million PLN which is an equivalent of over 8 million GBP British Pounds). It happened however that the money was not enough and we cannot fulfil our plans. That is why the XVIII final will be concentrated around children’s oncology. Working beside the Polish Community Organisation PEGAZ, staff is looking for voluntaries to help in preparing and running The XVIII Final in January 2010. Before the event please come over to the Centre before hand to confirm your details and to collect your indetification cards, without which you can not collect the money. The donations will be collected throughthout the events at the Trinity Centre and in other Polish centres in the town. We are also will be collecting the money by volunteers in Leeds. They also supported us last year. Thank you for your support.

With the great pleasure we would like to let you know that the volunteers from Leeds will be supporting The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity again. They will be collecting the money at the Polish Church and Polish Centre. They have organised the raffle and the fancy dress party from which the donations will be collected too.

Polish GOSPODA
We warmly invite to visit Polish restaurant Gospoda in Newcastle (unit 2, upper level, Princess Square, NE1 8ER, beside new City Library), which also participate in Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. We are impatiently awaiting for delicious bakes of Agnieszka and Zbyszek, from which gains will support Jurek Owsiak’s organisation. We hope chocolate gingerbreads will end up at our auction. All sweets lovers are invited.
